Treat ectoparasites¹²

Consider plucking hairs (trichogram) or acetate tape samples on pinched skin in areas too sensitive for a deep skin scrape.
Consider a therapeutic trial with an isoxazoline if skin scrapings are not possible.
Failures in the treatment of mites using isoxazolines have been anecdotally reported.
Oral isoxazoline is preferred as this drug class offers flea, tick and mite prevention and allows for routine bathing.
