Flea Combing

Diagnosis

The diagnosis of flea infestations is based on the case history and dermatological examination. To confirm, look for fleas or their blackish feces (pepper-like specks) in the fur. The feces can be moistened on a damp white paper towel to reveal reddish-brown stains, confirming the presence of digested blood. Using a flea comb can help locate these signs and establish a definitive diagnosis.
